Chinalin International Financial Centre: Construction Update

The Chinalin International Financial Centre is located in Zhoujiadu Sub-district, World Expo Area, Pudong New Area, Shanghai. Construction is slated for overall completion by the end of this December, with official commissioning scheduled for May 2027.

Covering a site area of 7,824 square meters, the project has a total gross floor area (GFA) of 42,147 square meters. the development comprises 10 above-ground floors and 3 basement levels, with an overall building height of approximately 50 meters.

The ground floor accommodates banking facilities, commercial retail, the main office lobby, and a dedicated securities lobby, while floors 2 through 10 are designated for office use. The complex consists of a main tower and an adjoining low-rise wing designed as a "landscape pavilion." The two volumes integrate into a unified whole, embodying the design concept of "turning stone into gold." The east and west volumes complement each other with varying massing heights to capture panoramic views of the river. The north elevation adopts a diamond-faceted architectural language, maximising visual connectivity to the landscape while asserting its own distinctive identity.

The facade skillfully balances stone and glass, enhanced by open, transparent glazed corners at the tower junctions. This approach delivers the solid, dignified presence expected of a financial institution while maintaining the dynamic refinement of contemporary architecture. It harmonises with adjacent landmarks—including the China Art Museum and the Mercedes-Benz Arena—while integrating seamlessly with neighbouring developments on the same parcel, forming an iconic, recognisable landmark that continues the Shanghai World Expo's motto: "Better City, Better Life."

The development fully utilizes the rooftop terraces of both the north and south blocks to introduce expansive roof gardens. These green terraces enrich the layering of the landscape, expand the view corridors for surrounding high-rise offices, and provide dynamic spaces for business engagement, offering sweeping vistas across Expo Avenue toward the Mercedes-Benz Arena and the Huangpu River.

Upon completion, the Chinalin International Financial Centre will serve as the Shanghai headquarters for Liye Group and Chinalin Securities. Going forward, Chinalin Securities plans to establish dedicated bond and bill trading centers at the property.
